I have always enjoyed painting and for many years wedged painting time amidst raising a family and serving as a career naval officer.
Retiring to the Lowcountry has given me the gifts of time and endless inspiration to pick up my brushes in earnest. I have been fortunate to see many lovely places in the United States and overseas, but I marvel at our marshes, coastline and skies and seek to capture their beauty in my work.
I paint in both acrylic and water mixable oils, and I LOVE COLOR. I paint larger works, but I am fond of pieces that brighten up smaller spaces like a hallway, bookshelf, powder room, or even a pantry. Art should be enjoyed everywhere.
When I paint I feel joyful and content, and for a time my worries and concerns melt away. It is my heartfelt desire that my paintings bring joy to others.
